Tenant & Affiliated Programs
Tenant Program
Tenant programs are independent nonprofits that rent space at the Neighborhood Center and broaden RDNC service offerings.

Community Music Center (www.sfcmc.org) was founded on the philosophy that age, ethnic background and income level must never be obstacles to participation in the life-enhancing qualities of a music education. Approximately 400 students are enrolled in private lessons at CMC's Richmond District Neighborhood Center site. Students undertake courses of study that include piano, strings, winds, voice, guitar and percussion. With its modest full-tuition, sliding scale fees, and financial aid program, CMC is able to serve a large and diverse population. For more information, call 221-4515.
Cross Cultural Family Center's mission is to provide high quality, community-based developmentally appropriate early care and education services in a cross cultural setting. Programs aim to care for and educate the whole child with an emphasis on self-esteem. Respect for parents as the first and most important influence on children's lives is the basis for family support programs designed to sustain and build parents' competence and confidence in that role. At its Richmond District Neighborhood Center site, Cross Cultural Family Center serves more than 50 families with children between the ages of two and five years. For more information, call 668-7863.
Affiliated Program
RDNC programming includes two affiliated programs that are addressing critical needs in the Richmond District. Both programs support RDNC's mission to enable Richmond District neighbors to enhance the quality of life for themselves and their community. RDNC serves as fiscal sponsor for each initiative.
The Richmond District Interfaith-Neighborhood Agency Coalition brings together key religious and community agency leaders to create connections that serve and empower those most in need in our neighborhoods. Recognizing that we can all take time to invest our energy to care for each other - particularly those less fortunate, the Coalition is implementing several pro-grams that improve the quality of life in the Richmond District. These programs include: Richmond Advocates Addressing Homelessness, which works with other community and city-wide groups to provide services for those living on the streets, and to advocate for the poor and homeless; and Richmond Village Harvest, a food pantry for seniors on low and fixed income which provides twice a month food distribution. The Coalition also sponsors Quarterly Breakfast Meetings, which promote interfaith sharing regarding community concerns and needs. To become involved in the Coalition, call 668-1145.
Morning Star Children's Theater Group is a five-year-old organization that fosters cultural understanding through the arts. Largely staffed by accomplished volunteer artist-teachers, Morning Star provides high quality Russian music, dance, art and literature lessons for children. Each year, the theater group's work is showcased in colorful, full-costume productions that celebrate the children's talents and creativity as well as Russian culture.
